Tributes have been paid to a Chasetown FC supporter who has died.Norris Russell had been a long-term visitor to The Scholars Ground for decades and was a regular face at away fixtures too.
The club’s press officer Paul Mullins said he would be sorely missed.
“Norris would always make sure he was the first name on the list for a seat on the coach,” he said. “I recall at the Bishop’s Cleeve game on the opening day of the season after our promotion how he wanted to be the first one through the gate.
“Recent illness may have prevented him from coming to matches, but Norris would always ring up for the half-time and full-time score.
“A popular man, Norris had time for everyone at the club. He will be sorely missed by us all.”
