Lichfield City FC wrapped up a week to forget after throwing away a 2-0 lead to lose against Heath Hayes.
Having been beaten by Bolehall Swifts and draw against Pelsall Villa in the last seven days, Gary Birch’s men were hoping to make it third time lucky in a derby clash.
They got the perfect start with Dave Yonwin opening the scoring inside ten minutes.
The Lichfield forward nearly bagged a second after 20 minutes with an effort that went just wide.
City did make it 2-0 before half-an-hour was up as Tony Clarke found the net.
A crucial goal for Heath Hayes from Joe Pickering just before the break gave them a foothold in the game going into the second half.
The visitors had their tails up and forced a succession of corners after the interval.
Lichfield player-boss Birch went close to restoring the two goal advantage, but it was Heath Hayes who were next to strike as they levelled through Joe Hartshorne with an hour on the clock.
The turnaround was completed when Steve Allan netted for the visitors before Pickering completed City’s misery to condemn them to a 4-2 defeat.
