Fishing on Stowe Pool could soon be controlled by a local angling club.
Lichfield District Council has confirmed that it is looking to franchise out the management of fishing on the pool.
A spokesperson told LichfieldLive that the move would reduce the need for its own parks team to monitor angling on the site.
They added that the successful club would take on duties, such as collecting angling fees and preventing night time fishing.
A tender document is being put together and local clubs will be able to register their intentions in taking on Stowe Pool in due course.
The council’s spokesperson added that the move would not impact on the availability of angling on the site or any competition or matches.
