Membership boost for Lichfield Museum Bowling Club

A local bowling club is celebrating after seeing a rise in the number of people joining.

New memberships are up 25% at Lichfield Museum Bowling Club, which has also been boosted by the news that its Spoons competition – which dates back to the 1930s – will be sponsored by local cutlery firm Arthur Price for a second year.

Club president Geoffrey Parkinson said: “We have been actively promoting the club to increase our numbers and will continue to do so.

“By having our activities reinvigorated due to sponsorship and hosting open days like we did last year in aid of We Love Lichfield, we have been able to recruit significant new members.

“I’d like to thank Simon Price from Arthur Price for again kindly agreeing to sponsor our Spoons competition. It has a great history and this partnership will ensure the future is secure and that lots of people will enjoy the competition for many generations to come.”

The cutlery and giftware company also presented the club with a new trophy last year and has since handed out new mini-trophies for winners of monthly competitions.
