Lichfield Cathedral will be joining in with the celebrations on the inaugral Staffordshire Day this weekend.

Sunday (May 1) will see activities and events across the county, including a special thanksgiving Evensong in the city at 3pm.

There will also be a ‘Great Staffordshire Bake-Off’ after the service with locals invited to bring along their homemade cakes to share.

The Very Revd Adrian Dorber, Dean of Lichfield, said: “We’re very much looking forward to supporting the celebration of Staffordshire’s important role in our national history.

“Lichfield Cathedral is Staffordshire’s cathedral, so please do bring a cake, and join us for this wonderful occasion.”
