Van driver robbed at knifepoint in Lichfield lay-by

A van driver has been robbed at knifepoint in Lichfield.

The 53-year-old was in a silver-coloured Vauxhall Meriva van in a lay-by on the A38 near to Swinfen.

He was followed in by a dark-coloured Ford Mondeo-type car at about 9am on Friday (May 6).​​​​​​​​​​​​

The driver of the car then got out and threatened the van driver with what was believed to be a three to four-inch bladed knife before making off with a mobile phone and a wallet.

The offender is described as white, in his late thirties to early forties, and of medium build.
He was described as wearing jeans and a black fleece.
