Lichfield business group’s charity donation

A business networking group in Lichfield has donated £400 to charity.

Members of Business 1st raised the money for myaware, which supports people and families suffering with myasthenia. The auto-immune disease causes muscle weakness and can affect speech and breathing.

The charity’s regional organiser, Sarah Hindley, collected the cheque from the networking group. She said: “We are very grateful to Business 1st for their efforts.

“We receive no Government funding but need £3,000 a day to run our services and so every penny counts to continue supporting families living with myasthenia, particularly in this, our 40th anniversary year.”

Business 1st has previously raised money for the We Love Lichfield fund, St Giles Hospice and Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Chair of the group, Alison Taylor, said: “We’re delighted to be able to help raise money for good causes, and will be keeping in touch with Sarah regarding any other ways we might be able to help.”
