Indie favourites The Pigeon Detectives and Cast will join the city’s own Tony Christie in Beacon Park on June 12.

A spokesperson said: “The Pigeon Detectives arrive with a host of hits under their belt, while Cast emerged from the mid-1990s Britpop scene with a string of anthems including Finetime, Alright and Walkaway.

“Tony Christie brings his string of hits such as Las Vegas, I Did What I Did for Maria and Avenues and Alleyways, but it is undoubtedly Is This The Way to Amarillo? that Tony will be best remembered for. The song sold more than a million copies on its release in 1972 and was awarded a gold disc, then was rediscovered by a new generation in 2005 when it stayed at number one in the UK singles charts for seven weeks.”
