Call for more green-fingered residents to enter 2016 Burntwood in Bloom contest

Green-fingered locals are being urged to showcase their gardening talents in the Burntwood in Bloom competition.

Burntwood Town Council say the number of entries for the 2016 contest are down on previous years.

Organisers are now appealing for more residents, schools, organisations and businesses to take part.

A spokesperson said: “We know there are many beautiful gardens, hanging baskets and troughs in the town and we really want to encourage as many people as possible to enter the competition.

“There are prizes and trophies to be won so why not give it a go?”

The closing date for entries is July 15. Entry forms can be collected from the council’s office at The Old Mining College Centre or downloaded from
