Youngsters enjoying the KidsOut event at Drayton Manor

Thousands of disadvantaged children have enjoyed a day out at Drayton Manor Theme Park.

The tourist attraction near Fazeley threw open its doors for the event organised in conjunction with the KidsOut charity and Rotary International.

Around 7,500 youngsters, carers, guardians and teachers enjoyed the free day out.

Colin Bryan, CEO at Drayton Manor Park, said: “This event holds a really special place in our hearts and we look forward to it every single year.

“It means a lot to be able to provide these children with a memorable day out, especially as so many of them have never been to a theme park before.

“It’s fantastic to see the smiles on all their faces and we’re honoured to be a part of this great initiative.”

KidsOut’s Big Day Out co-ordinator Bill Elliot added: “This day aims to show children that there is hope for the future and that people do care even though they’ve had a tough start in life.

“We want to say a huge thank you to the Bryan family and the staff at Drayton Manor for their continued support throughout the years.”
