Members of Lichfield Ladies Circle put their packing skills into action to raise funds to provide more baby journals for the Neonatal unit at the Birmingham Women’s Hospital.

Last year the organisation provided 250 journals, which are placed in a journey box and given as a gift to parents of babies admitted to the unit, who are usually born prematurely, and provides comfort during and after their stay.

The Chair of Lichfield Ladies Circle, Clare Ellett, presented another 300 to Clare Raiman from Birmingham Women’s Hospital last month.

A spokesperson said: “The money was raised by members of the Lichfield Ladies Circle packing shopping bags for customers at the B&M Store in Lichfield.

“The ladies were overwhelmed at the generosity of the customers. The money raised, along with a donation from Lichfield Ladies Tangles, enabled 300 more journals to be produced.”
