Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne is working on a project at Lichfield Cathedral to commemorate the Battle of the Somme.
The star of Les Miserables, The Danish Girl and The Theory of Everything will team up with artist Peter Walker for the event in the city from August 4 to 6.
The exhibition will see the cathedral’s interior transformed into a “thought-provoking and poignant landscape” symbolising the journey taken by soldiers to the front.
Eddie visited Lichfield earlier this week to record a selection of well-known war poems, which will form part of the display.
Peter said: “He was very generous in donating his time and his support has been wonderful. We hope everyone will come along and enjoy these recordings in August.”
