A community project to save children’s centres in Burntwood has taken centre stage at a national conference.

Spark Burntwood was launched in 2015 to save two facilities in the town.

It has since flourished with a range of sessions and activities for children and their families.

They have now joined councillors at the Local Government Association Conference in Bournemouth to help other groups from across the UK to take similar steps to improve support for families.

Very proud of what we have achieved as a community in Burntwood, very proud of the mums who set up the Community Interest Company, very proud of all of the supporters and volunteer workers – and very proud that Spark Burntwood is now showing the way for other councils across the country.
