Experimental Chasetown FC side lose pre-season friendly against local rivals Hednesford Town

A new-look Chasetown gave higher league opposition Hednesford Town a run for their money in a competitive opening friendly.

Mitchell Piggon went close for the Scholars in the first half, in a side dominated by new faces. Brendan Murphy also tested the Pitmen with a mazy run and shot narrowly wide.

Hednesford’s eventual winner came in the 67th minute with a well taken goal from Ashley Sammons.
