A trust in Lichfield is offering children the chance to learn angling skills.

To celebrate National Fishing Month, Lichfield and Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust (LHCRT) has teamed up with the Canal and River Trust to offer residents a free family fishing taster session.

The day will be held on August 6, from 10am to 5pm, at Borrowcop Locks Canal Park on Tamworth Road, with an expert angler on hand to show the kids how it’s done.

Christine Howles, from LHCRT, said: “We want to get more people hooked on fishing.

“It’s a great way to unwind and spend time outside in the fresh air.”

To book the session visit the LHCRT website. All ages are welcome but children must be supervised by an adult. Equipment will be provided.
