The organisers of Cars in the Park are celebrating after the event raised £32,000 for charity.

The event in Beacon Park also saw a record number of visitors, with more than 18,000 visiting the show over the two days at the start of July.

Around 1,500 classic cars were on display as well as 16 dealers showcasing their latest vehicles.

David Ratcliffe, President of The Rotary Club of Lichfield St Chad which organised the event, sayid: “The fine weather brought people to Beacon Park in droves, which greatly assisted our fundraising efforts.

“It takes over 100 people to put on a show of this size, and we’d like to thank all the exhibitors and supporters for contributing, and the general public for attending and making the show such a success.

“We’re proud that well over £500,000 has been raised for charity over the last 19 years of running Rotary Cars in the Park in Lichfield.”
