One of the businesses supporting the Lichfield Food Festival is planning a range of events in the city.
The event takes place on August 27 and 28 and will be sponsored for the fourth time by the Central England Co-operative.
The company will be handing out goody bags, free food samples and details of community projects over the weekend of food-themed fun.
Martyn Cheatle, chief executive of Central England Co-operative, said: “We are delighted to be involved in such a major event in Lichfield’s social calendar – one that attracts thousands of visitors from across the region and allows us to be part of something that is a celebration of local producers and suppliers.
“It also allows us to celebrate the fact that this is where our Business Support Centre is based.”
The popular free-entry festival will also showcase top chefs from across the region, a huge array of specialist food and drink, entertainment, a baking competition and a brewing event.
Great British Bake Off contestants Howard Middleton and Ali Imad will offer demonstrations as part of the event.
Morag Pringle, Lichfield BID manager, added: “We’re ever so grateful to all our sponsors for their support. We couldn’t do it without them, and we’re thrilled that so many local businesses and organisations have got involved this year. It means we can present a fantastic event that’s bigger and better than previous festivals.”
