Lichfield City FC kicked off their new league season by picking up all three points at Studley.
The Midland Football League Division One side followed up their FA Cup replay triumph with a scrappy win on the road.
City nearly found themselves behind early as Studley saw an effort go over the bar.
But despite a less than convincing start it was Lichfield who made the breakthrough when Ben Lund teed up Nick Harris to fire home in off the bar.
The lead was almost doubled when Joshua Haston could only send a close-range chance over the bar, before seeing a header also fail to find the target.
Studley were still a threat at the other end though, with Lichfield keeper Amrick Virdee showing safe hands to deny the hosts.
Haston sent another chance over the top at the start of the second half, before sub Kieron Mortiboys saw his effort saved.
City were creating the better of the chances but were hit by a sucker punch as Studley levelled from a corner.
Both sides sniffed the opportunity of three points and traded missed chances in a frantic final ten minutes.
But it was Lichfield who landed the killer blow in the dying stages of the game when Lund broke clear and lifted the ball over the keeper to seal all three points.
City will hope to make it two league wins in as many games when they make the short trip to Bolehall Swifts on Tuesday (August 16).
