Lichfield City FC hit five to beat Atherstone

Lichfield City FC picked themselves up from their FA Cup disappointment to record a 5-0 triumph over Atherstone.

Dave Langston’s men almost when behind in the way stages when Joe Clarke was forced to clear off the line.

The early scare didn’t put Lichfield out of their stride as Dan Baxter carved out a chance which Jordan Evans stabbed home.

City’s lead was doubled when Lewis Bourne’s free kick was turned in by Luke Chapman.

The second half saw Lichfield’s goal steal continue when Chapman double his tally.

The score was 4-0 when Baxter outpaced the defence to fire home.

Lichfield weren’t done yet though as Evans saved the best until last with a sublime chip to score his side’s fifth.
