Flavours from around the globe will be on offer at the 2016 Lichfield Food Festival this weekend.
The event will feature cookery demonstrations, appearances from stars of the Great British Bake Off and live music.
From 9am to 5pm on Saturday (August 27) and 10am to 4.30pm on Sunday there will also be a food market outside Lichfield Cathedral and the in the Three Spires Shopping Centre, while restaurants on Bird Street will have special offers and samples available. There will even be a pop up beach and free cocktail masterclasses.
Live music will be provided by Hue and Cry outside the cathedral at 7.30p on Saturday, while Great British Bake Off stars Howard Middleton and Ali Imdad will be giving live demonstrations at 1.30pm on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
A family zone organised by the Three Spires Shopping Centre and the Lichfield Garrick will offer free craft and cupcake decorating activities.
A local brewers’ event, offering real ale and craft cider by the glass, will be in the Guildroom of the Guildhall on Saturday from 12noon to 6pm. Then on Sunday home bakers will be entering their cakes into the Birthday Bake Off and festival-goers will be able to vote for their favourites between 11.30pm and 3pm.
