One of the Burntwood Business Park units likely to be demolished if the plan gets the go-ahead

A section of the Burntwood Business Park could be demolished to make way for a new 50,000 square foot industrial unit.

Five existing units and an office block would be removed if the plans for the development on Cannel Road get the go-ahead.

Many of the units had previously been occupied by Rowley Transport, while one is currently home to chemicals firm Univar Limited.

Landowners London & Cambridge Properties have put forward the proposal for the site.

In a statement supporting the application, they said: “The proposal would consist of the complete redevelopment of the site with zone three of the Burntwood Business Park.”

Full details of the proposals can be seen on Lichfield District Council’s planning website.

Wasn’t the reason some of the new houses in Burntwood not being built due to the proximity of the chemical factory… coincidence they now want to demolish it and build a new unit, which of course will mean moving the chemical factory…
