Guests have been given a first look at a newly-refurbished Chorley pub.
The Malt Shovel Inn has undergone a £300,000 makeover to create a new back bar, update the kitchen and redecoration throughout.
A launch event saw guests learn more about the work, which has been overseen Jane Evans, who has been at the helm of the pub for more than 15 years, and who now runs it with husband Jon.
“The investment was designed to enhance the existing offer by improving facilities to create a premium pub with a strong British food offer together with a wide range of real ales, wines and spirits,” Jane said.
“We have been sure to retain the ‘home-from-home’ feel which has made it so popular with local residents and by the reaction of everyone who attended we got it spot on. It was great to see the pub buzzing with so many guests – we felt very honoured that they all came down to join in the celebrations.”
