A new street food event is launching in Lichfield.

The Secret Garden will feature flavours from across the globe when it kicks off at Minster HAll on September 24.

Five leading vendors are already confirmed for the event, with cuisines on offer ranging from Caribbean dishes to stone baked pizza and rustic Italian classics.

The Rovin’ Bar from Warwickshire will also be providing real ale, coder, prosecco and other alcoholic drinks, while a slushy bar will also be on offer for children.

Secret Garden organiser David Boston said: “This is a new venture which aims to bring the street food revolution to the streets of Lichfield.

“Street food has boomed in the UK yet nothing of the sort has really been introduced into our city which is a real shame as we have the setting to create something amazing.

“Secret Garden is looking to change all of that, with this event being the perfect place where families and friends can enjoy delicious food and drink, as well as live local music.”

Secret Garden will open in the grounds of Minster Hall and is free to enter from midday to 6pm.

Live music from local artists and bands will also be on offer, with an open mic style set up for people looking to play a different audience.

“I am urging everyone to come down to our launch event and see what Secret Garden really has to offer,” David said. “We are hoping to bring similar street food events to the city on a month by month basis, with a Christmas extravaganza already being planned by our team.

“Hopefully this will bring a new social outlet to the city and I couldn’t be happier that I am involved in this new venture.”
