Lichfield City FC kept themselves top of the table after a 3-0 win over Littleton.

Dave Langston’s men created the best of the early chances, with Josh Haston seeing his close range effort blocked.

Littleton showed that they posed a threat on the break though as they sprung the offside trap only to send the ball wide.

Ben Lund had a great chance to put City in front, but blazed over when he should have done better.

But the Lichfield hitman made up for his earlier miss after putting his side in front after 35 minutes.

City managed to engineer a two goal advantage when Luke Chapman found the target.

Haston spurned a good opportunity to make it 3-0, but the reprieve only proved to be temporary for Littleton as Matthew Tolley sealed the victory with Lichfield’s third.

The result leaves City three points clear of Bromsgrove Sporting at the top of the Midland Football League Division One, although the chasers have two games in hand.
