One of the organisations behind the We Love Lichfield Fund has outlined ambitious plans for its future.
The Community Foundation for Staffordshire manages local funds worth £5million – but wants to double that figure by 2020.
The organisation is team which can create and administer funds for philanthropists, business, central Government and local authorities. It has also been responsible for distributing the local share of the Big Lottery Fund and Comic Relief money
We Love Lichfield patron Simon Price said: “Without the Community Foundation, We Love Lichfield won’t be where it is now.
“Because they administer the funds and take care of the legal side of things, we can concentrate on fundraising and giving away money to worthy good causes. This has made a huge difference in how successful we have been.”
The We Love Lichfield Fund has already distributed more than £50,000 to in excess of 100 organisations.
Steve Adams, Community Foundation For Staffordshire’s Chief Executive, said: “Not many people know about the Community Foundation even though we cross many boundaries and connect with many people.
“By launching our new 10 for 20 initiative, and promoting our local work for the Big Lottery Fund and Comic Relief, I hope there will be a halo effect and that more people see the great work we do and offer their help.”
