The events saw baked goodies and themed competitions on offer at the authority’s Frog Lane HQ, Friary Grange Leisure Centre and Burntwood Leisure Centre.

Councillor Doug Pullen, Cabinet member for community, said: “I’m really proud that council and leisure centre staff put so much effort into baking at home to raise money for a charity that does such important work in looking after people suffering from cancer.

“A big thank you to all the bakers and to everyone who bought the cakes and biscuits, managing to raise more than £600 for Macmillan Cancer Care.

“I am sure leisure centre members needed to work twice as hard in the gym to work off those treats.”
