New community choir launched at the Lichfield Garrick

A new community choir is being launched in Lichfield.

It will be led by Angharad Sanders following the success of the Garrick’s community musical, The Hired Man, earlier this year.

Meeting weekly, the choir will be covering music of all genres.

Angharad said: “I’m truly thrilled to see the expansion in the choir this year, following the success of the Hired Man.

“It’s such a lovely environment to come and sing and meet new, likeminded people.”

The new community choir will expand on the Garrick’s youth choir and will meet every Thursday between 6pm and 7.30pm. It is open to all ages and costs £50 a term.

Tim Ford, artistic director for the Lichfield Garrick, added: “It’s excellent news that Angharad is again leading the Garrick choir this year.

“The choir brings a vibrancy of sound across the theatre and it’s wonderful to see the choir progressing with an array of local vocal talent. The choir will be playing a key role as part of our Garrick 300 celebrations in 2017 both here at the Garrick Theatre and across Lichfield.”
