They were held as part of The Big Draw, the UK’s biggest drawing festival.

Professional artists Johnathan Polkest and Diana Shepherd led free activities at Lichfield’s Three Spires Shopping Centre, while artist Francis Lowe was stationed at Speakers’ Corner on Dam Street.

Workshops included creating animations, a ‘draw me booth’ using a camera obscurer to do portraits, and drawings using cogs and tools.

Councillor Helen Fisher, Lichfield District Council Cabinet member for tourism & communications, said: “I am delighted so many people had the chance to get involved in our local Big Draw activities.

“It’s a fantastic way to rediscover your creativity and to try something new.”
