Chris Newman and Marie Ni Chathasaigh

Two celebrated virtuoso musicians will make a welcome return to Lichfield Guildhall when harpist Marie Ni Chathasaigh and guitarist Chris Newman play their seasonal Celtic Christmas Strings show tomorrow (December 3).

The internationally-renowned duo have toured around the world, playing in 22 countries and on five continents.

Their music takes inspiration from a wide range of cultures, from delicate folk and ethnic music, traditional Irish folk, bluegrass, Appalachian music, jazz, classical and baroque, combining their own composition with interesting arrangements of well-known songs and instrumental tracks.

For this concert, the duo have arranged some classic Christmas songs and festive music to suit their facility on the strings and the surroundings of the Guildhall.
