Home keeper Jake Turner was the busier of the two stoppers in the first half. He had to be alert to push wide a Mitch Piggon effort early on.

He showed his reflexes again just before the break when a Jack Langston volley was saved a full stretch and pushed away from the on-rushing Piggon.

At the other end, Chasetown keeper Curtis Pond rode his luck though with one hurried clearance which fell to Jordan Hempenstall, but his looping effort clipped the top of the crossbar.

Lincoln had been on a great run of late but it was against the run of play on the night that the hosts took the lead when Matt Cotton drilled home.

And the points were sealed in the dying minutes with a Hempenstall effort that looped over Pond and nestled in the corner.
