Lichfield City FC survived a red card to make it three wins on the spin with victory over Bolehall Swifts.

A lively first half saw Liam Rowley net early for the visitors, while Nick Harris rifled home from distance for Dave Langston’s City side.

But the real talking point of the opening period was the dismissal of Lichfield striker Ben Lund for kicking out at the Swifts keeper.

Any thoughts of a backs to the wall effort by the ten men after the break were soon dashed after Pawel Smigielski’s strike was fumbled into the path of Dan Griffiths who slid home the rebound to put City in front.

Smigielski was looking dangerous on the ball and went close to turning from provider to scorer as he fired just over the top.

Both keepers traded good saves as Bolehall looked for a way back into the game.

But it was Lichfield who were to strike the decisive blow, Griffiths making it 3-1 on the break to wrap up the three points.
