As 2016 draws to a close, lots of people are contemplating the year gone by, and we decided to do the same. Here’s a run down of Lichfield Live’s 2016…
We turned 8 years old, a huge achievement even if we do say so ourselves, and our 9th birthday is just around the corner.
233,658 visitors enjoyed reading the 1,573 articles we wrote. You were chatty too; 237 of you made 1,222 comments.
Most of you found us by searching about Lichfield or it’s goings on. A big chunk of you also came through following us on Facebook and Twitter too. We now have over 1,400 likes on Facebook and have amassed 5,745 Twitter followers.
The stories that caught your attention in 2016 were just the kind of local stories you might expect too – both positive and negative. Streethay road closure, a train assault, school holidays, a woman found dead in a hotel and of course, Bower Day photos.
Lichfield Live is run entirely by volunteers, and isn’t cheap to run. In 2016 our costs came to £514.87 and our income was just £19.46. Those costs were borne by our volunteers who devote their time and money to making sure Lichfield gets the up-to-date and relevant news every single day. If you can, please consider donating to help Lichfield Live stay around for another year!
Thank you for your support through out 2016 and we hope you’ll continue to enjoy Lichfield Live in 2017.
Happy new year!
