A Burntwood councillor has unveiled the first of what he hopes will be 12 new defibrillators in the town.

The lifesaving equipment was funded by the Chasetown Townswomen Guild and installed at the Swan Island Methodist Church free of charge by Stretton Construction, with electrical parts supplied free by J&M Electrical.

Councillor Darren Ennis – who ran the London Marathon last year to raise money for new defribillators – is hoping to see many more installed.

“We have to thank the Townswomen Guild and the church for housing the equipment, as well as all of the other local businesses who gave their time, expertise and products for this important cause.

“I would love to see 12 new defibrillators installed across Burntwood during 2017.”
