A councillor has been forced to apologise after failing to treat council officers with respect.
The incident came to light ahead of a meeting of the standards committee at Lichfield District Council tonight (March 15).
A report from Cllr Christopher Spruce said a complaint had been made that the unnamed elected representative had breached the local authority’s code of conduct for “failing to treat officers with respect”.
“The member was directed to formally apologise to the officers concerned and did so,” the report added. “No further acton was taken.”
The issue will be discussed at the standards committee meeting held at 6pm this evening.
