There were not enough written requests for a by-election for the Chasetown ward seat relinquished by Labour’s Keith Willis-Croft.

The position will now be filled by a new representative chosen at a meeting of the town council on May 18.

Possible candidates can apply in writing to the chief executive officer of the council before April 30.

Those interested in putting themselves forward must be over 18 and be either:

  • On the current register of electors in Burntwood.
  • Have lived within three miles of the town for the past 12 months.
  • Worked within Burntwood.

Candidates must supply background information to help councillors make their final decision.
