Matt Tolley double salvages a point for Lichfield City FC

A Matt Tolley double was enough to earn Lichfield City FC a point at Southam United.

An even opening period saw the hosts strike the first blow as Ben Nicholson netted just before the half-hour.

Things went from bad to worse for Lichfield on 37 minutes when a penalty saw James Keller double Southam’s lead.

But, crucially, City pulled one back just before the break when Tolley netted.

The second half saw Lichfield pile on the pressure and they were rewarded just after the hour as Tolley’s long-range effort earned them a point.

Although City will welcome salvaging a point, the result means they have now gone five games without a win.
