Four historic city figures have been made honorary lifetime members of the new Friends of the Garrick scheme.
David Garrick, Samuel Johnson, Anna Seward and Erasmus Darwin will be honoured as part of a new scheme which will allow theatre-goers in the city to take up one of four membership levels.
Each Friends of the Garrick membership band will have different benefits, including the chance to go behind the scenes, meet the stars and invitations to VIP events.
Karen Foster, executive director of the Garrick, said: “I am delighted to welcome our four new honorary Friends to the scheme and hope that many of our patrons and audience members will join Garrick, Johnson, Darwin and Seward in discovering more about the Lichfield Garrick while helping to support the theatre’s artistic and community activities.
“As an independent charity, we rely on the goodwill of our audience members and supporters to continue bringing the best entertainment and participatory activities to the heart of the district.”
The new scheme sees members pay annually to join. The patron’s circle price starts from £15 with the top level – the Garrick family circle – costing £300.
