Free scooter and skateboard skills sessions on offer in Burntwood

Young people in Burntwood are being offered the chance to learn scooter and skateboard skills.

Free sessions will take place on June 1 and 2 at Cherry Close Skate Park.

The first workshop will be for skateboaders and the second for those who want to learn scooter tricks. Both will be split by age, with 10am to noon for 13 to 16-year-olds and the 1pm to 3pm session for 17 to 25-year-olds.

Tasmin Turner, youth sports development officer at Lichfield District Council, said: “Burntwood’s skate park is a great local resource, and these tuition sessions are a good way to get more young people using it.

“Whether you’re a beginner or pretty advanced on a scooter or a skateboard, our trainers will teach a whole range of skills and some tricks.”

The council will offer more free skateboarding and scootering tuition days towards the end of the summer holiday, working towards a competition event at the start of September.
