The Whittington and Fisherwick Environment Group (WFEG) will welcome wildlife gardening expert Chris Baines on June 22.

The author of How to Make a Wildlife Garden will offer advice on which plants to choose for bees, birds and butteflies and how to construct the perfect pond.

WFEG Chair Debbie Barnish said “We are very privileged to have this influential figure as our guest speaker at our tenth anniversary AGM.

“Chris is the guy who first made us all realise what an important place gardens can be for wildlife. Particularly with intensive agriculture affecting the countryside, they are a vital haven for wild flowers, bees, pollinating insects, birds, hedgehogs and wildlife of many kinds.”

The talk will begin at 7.45pm in the Cricket Pavilion on Vicarage Lane in Whittington. The group’s AGM takes place at 7pm.
