Teenagers arrested after bikes are stolen in Lichfield city centre

Three teenagers have been arrested after bikes were stolen across Lichfield.

Two 15-year-olds and a 13-year-old, all from Birmingham, were held after three bicycles were taken from locations around the city centre.

All three were granted bail until July 18.

Yep, no surprise at all , the usual method for these scum is to travel in on the train, obviously they don’t buy tickets , steal the bikes ( I have already had two taken from Lichfield City train station) they use bolt cutters, then travel back to their hovels where the bikes are then used to pedal drugs. Been going on for years.

While not perfect, bikes are much more secure when locked up with D-locks that have the Sold Secure Gold standard. Visit Lichfield Re:cycle of Freedom Cycles locally for advice on good bike security.

Don’t pass judgement on these guys, but generally we do have a problem with Lichfield being rich pickings for visiting scrotes (supported by recent insurance claims data).
I’ve previously suggested border controls, which is obviously ridiculous, but a more visible police presence at City station from time to time may deter the opportunists.

The police used to do spot-checkpoints for knives at LIC tunnel entrance when I used to commute to/from Brum, do they still do this or have cutbacks lead to the demise of this safety practice?

We’re in a very vulnerable position so close to the border.

I have sat on a train at City and the announcement has been made. The doors will remain closed until the police arrive.

20 minutes later and no sign of the police, they have opened the doors and let everyone off.
