The city centre site is one of almost 1,800 parks in the UK to receive the Green Flag Award.

Councillor Iain Eadie, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet member for leisure, said: “We know how much quality green spaces matter to residents and visitors, and this award celebrates the dedication by our parks and ground maintenance teams who run and maintain Beacon Park to such a high standard.

“We appreciate all the hard work they put into Beacon Park and I would like to say a big thank you to all the team.

“We are absolutely delighted to receive a Green Flag Award for the seventh year.”

    Excellent news and well deserved.
We are lucky to have such a fantastic park in the middle of the city.
At a time when parks and green spaces are under threat from lack of investment and funding and the pressure of redevelopment, a big pat on the back to the council and especially everyone involved in maintaining Beacon Park.
