A series of events will transform Lichfield Cathedral as part of the venue’s Great Exhibition event.
A new light and sound art installation will feature alongside screenings if to Disney movies.
There is also a display of tiles created by local schoolchildren.
The light display will transform the cathedral’s internal spaces into a display representative of earth, sea and sky, while screenings of the Jungle Book and Wall-E have both already proven popular.
Simon Warburton, executive director of Lichfield Cathedral, said: “We are delighted that so many people wanted to see The Jungle Book and, while this is now sold out, we are thrilled to have prints from the Detmold collection, courtesy of the Stoke Potteries Museum.
“The Detmold twins received enormous popularity at the turn of the 20th century, having been commissioned to provide the artwork for the original Jungle Book (1903) and we have a wonderful collection of their art for visitors to view, whether attending the art installation or just visiting us during the day.”
The Great Exhibition runs from tomorrow (August 19) to August 28. Tickets for the art and light show are available online at www.lichfield-cathedral.org.
