The fundraising effort will help create a Rare Disease Centre for children – the first of its kind in the UK.

Kirsty White, corporate partnerships officer at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Drayton Manor Park for joining in with our Star Appeal celebrations and organising an incredible day out for some of our brave patients and families living with a rare or undiagnosed condition.

“We’re absolutely delighted that our £3.65million Star Appeal has recently reached target and it was wonderful to see our children, who are living with some of the most complex conditions imaginable, enjoying themselves at Drayton Manor.

“We all had a truly memorable day.”
