It took a fair few tweets but we eventually made it to the first ever Lichfield Tweetup! A good night was had. So good in fact, that almost no-one actually tweeted! We’re just that good at conversation, folks. We got a good crowd, with a total of 9 altogether. A roll call then, I think… We had @LichfieldBlog also known as Ross who was very friendly and not at all the grumpy old fart some may have imagined ;). There was @nbrickett our front-line shroving reporter fresh from the battlegrounds of Netherstowe and the now infamous St. Patrick’s underpass. We had @ShawnCGeorge who I admittedly didn’t get to talk to, but must do next time along with @rachelcreative and @grovesmedia. Though I wish the latter two had mentioned there eating plans at 1709 Brasserie sooner so I could have gatecrashed! Last but no means least the quick wit of @tonypiper, impressively sideburned @sammy_boy and Mr Distribution Connections, @alexstinton! Now to put faces to @handles…

  1. Phil. Good to meet everyone and looking forward to the sequel.
No offence, but if I’m going out for a meal with my wife I wouldn’t want anyone (not just you!) tagging along.

  2. Was great to meet you all! Apologies I didn’t get to talk to @ShaunCGeorge much, I think I was far too engrossed in conversation with Ross, Alex, Tony and Phil! We had a good laugh tho..

    one word… lolchavs!

  3. I had a great night as well, it was nice to meet everyone. I was surprised how well everyone got on as I was expecting the night to be a little awkward.

Looking forward to the next one.

  4. Great crowd, it was nice to put names to peoples’ user IDs! Another reason not many people were tweeting was that half of us either couldn’t log on or had problems sending tweets – though the conversation came thick and fast. I often didn’t know which convo to join in. Can’t wait for the next tweetup.

You must make lolchavs a reality! :D

  5. @GrovesMedia I think it was more a reference to my food-lusting state post-tweetup than anything. I wouldn’t really wanna gatecrash :)
