EXCLUSIVE: The mother of a Lichfield man killed after being hit by a train at a level crossing in Staffordshire has told of her grief on a charity internet site.
Stuart Turner was killed on March 20 after being struck by a train travelling at more than 100mph at the crossing on Station Road, Barlaston.
Stuart’s mother Jayne created a fundraising page on the JustGiving site and wrote a poignant message after the tragedy. It said:
Dear Stuart,
I really thought that you would turn up at Granny’s and say “Hi mum, it’s just a sick joke, I’m here”. I’m still here waiting for you, flower. I really can’t begin to tell you how much I’m going to miss sharing our moments together. I love you now, always and forever and I will never ever stop thinking about you.
All my love always,
Mum.
According to the page, money raised will go to the Impact Young Heroes charity which provides support, advice and specialist accomodation for young people living with cancer in the UK.
