Final respects have been paid to Lichfield man Stuart Turner at his funeral service in Stoke-on-Trent.
Friends and family gathered at St Mary’s Church in Trentham to say farewell to the popular former Nether Stowe pupil who died after being hit by a train on a level crossing at Barlaston on March 20.

Running the level crossing with lights flashing, siren blaring and barriers down is like playing Russian Roulette with a car.
An unfortunate, but preventable incident.
Anon, do you know the ins and outs of what actually happened that day? because i’m a close friend of Stuart Turner and even I don’t know how or why this happened. There’s a reason why that level crossing is known for being the most dangerous in the country, and I don’t think that ‘lights flashing, sirens blaring and barriers down’ justifies this.
