Despite what some of the decisions made about our city might suggest, it seems at least one person in Lichfield is taking the heritage of the city seriously.

Councillor Neil Roberts is Lichfield District Council’s Heritage Champion and was one of the few representatives from local councils to attend a networking event on the subject of heritage in the West Midlands.

According to a blog post by Stephen Ellis, a councillor based in Cheadle, only four local heritage champions attended the meeting in Birmingham.

Nevertheless, it was good to see Mr Roberts keeping abreast of the issues and, more importantly, solutions to heritage-related issues because as we all know, Lichfield has more than a few of those challenges to meet in the coming months and years.
