Lichfield District Council is offering advice for travellers returning from any of the areas involved in the swine flu outbreak.

A page on the council’s website offers information and symptoms to look out for as well as what to do if you think you are showing symptoms.

The advice from the council says people returning from areas including Mexico should seek advice if they get a fever accompanied by a cough, sore throat, headache and muscle aches.

The Council also urged travellers to keep a close eye on their health when they return. The advice states:

“If you have recently visited one of the countries or areas where human cases of influenza have been identified, it is important for you to monitor your health closely for seven days after your visit to the affected area. There is no need for you to isolate yourself from other people as long as you remain well.”
