Firms in Lichfield will be keeping their fingers crossed as nominations open for the city’s Business Awards.

The competition is run by Lichfield Chamber of Commerce and covers a variety of categories including:

  • Best business supporting Fair Trade
  • Best customer service at a shop
  • Best customer service at a business
  • Best new business
  • Best cafe/restaurant
  • Best bar/pub
  • Best entertainment or arts venue
  • Best venue supporting the community
  • Best beauty/hair/fitness venue

As well as the awards above, there will also be a Best in Business award for the company which gets the most nominations across all of the categories.

Richard Lewis, President of Lichfield’s Chamber of Trade & Commerce, said:

“These awards are a great way to show your support and appreciation for your favourite local businesses – from shops, to bars, to community venues. Winning such a prestigious award is a great boost for local businesses, especially in today’s financial climate. Winners and runners up can display their award winning status on their marketing material to help them stand out from the crowd. So, support your local business and get voting!”

You can cast your vote online until June 6.

The awards will be given out at a glittering event at the Lichfield Garrick on July 7. Local celebrity Don Maclean will help to present the awards which will be followed by a buffet and live music from Off the Hook. Tickets for the award ceremony go on sale on June 8 and cost £15.
