Adrian Lee has been confirmed as the Acting Chief Constable of Staffordshire Police.
Mr Lee, who is currently the force’s Deputy Chief Constable, will temporarily replace Chris Sims from June 1 until a permanent successor is found.
Mr Sims will swap the top job at Staffordshire for the post at West Midlands Police.
Mike Poulter, Chair of Staffordshire Police Authority, said:
“We are enormously grateful to Chris Sims for the significant and important role he has played in developing our trust and confidence strategy, and in leading Staffordshire Police to a position of high standing locally, regionally and nationally. We wish him every success in commanding West Midlands Police.
“Adrian Lee will take up the role on June 1 until a permanent appointment to the post of Chief Constable has been made.”
Interviews for the post of Chief Constable will take place on 28 and 29 July 2009.
